We are in the process of getting
a group of parents together to form a Handbook Committee. The
objective of this Committee will be to provide a comprehensive
handbook for new and old families of YSSC on the ins and outs of
year round swimming here at YSSC. If you are interested in being a
part of this commitee please email Coach Tim @ TCSolo710@yahoo.com.
Once the committee is formed we will set up a meeting
time.
Y-Spartaquatics
has a reputation and long-standing tradition of producing some of
the finest athletes in the Southeast. The team was founded and
stands on the belief that success in competitive swimming teaches
athletes life skills that would enhance a young adult’s
success later in life. Self-confidence, a positive self-image, and
self-responsibility are just a few characteristics that YSSC
promotes throughout an athlete’s career.
Y-Spartaquatics is part of a program
of the YMCA of Greater Spartanburg and benefits from the commitment
of the YMCA to develop an excellent competitive swimming program.
YSSC has the distinct advantage of being able to compete in both
YMCA and USA-Swimming sanctioned competitions. This flexibility
gives YSSC’s athletes a larger variety of competitions from
the local to the national level. As a coach led program, YSSC
offers over 30 years of coaching experience. The coaching
staff has developed a competitive program that is built upon a
foundation of stroke technique. In addition, the coaching staff
strives to challenge each team member to set and achieve goals of
reaching continued higher levels of competition. The team has had
success at every level of swimming including finalists at the
United States Olympic Trials. Y-Spartaquatics is extremely
fortunate in that it has full access to two of the finest aquatic
facilities in South Carolina. In addition, the team develops
strength and aerobic conditioning outside of the pool in state of
the art dryland and weight facilities located at both YMCA’s.
Y-Spartaquatics is an organization that prides itself on its family
feel and its desire for excellence in swimming.
