The Cukes finished the 2009-2010
Season in GRAND fashion this past weekend in Augusta. Despite the
poor facility conditions the Cukes pushed forward and accomplished
something that hasn't been down before! Click on the "9 for 9" to

Zone Team!
After a tremendously successful Long
Course State Championship some Cukes still wanted some more RACIN'!
11-12 Girls Ali Galyer, Sydney Baker, Jessica Horomanski, &
Savanna Faulconer, 11-12 Boys John Kelly, Nathan Delahunty, Kyle
Burke and Colin Kemp, 13-14 Girl Melissa Phan, 13-14 Boy Chandler
Brown, and 15-18 Boy Kyle Kemp were all selected to the SC Zone

*Kyle Kemp is not pictured because he
was warming up for his mile where he went 17:03!!!!! a 12 second
drop from what he did on at State Meet less than 5 days ago!!!

In his first ever "national" type
meet, Nathan Delahunty surged forward with two final swims in his
First two events! Nathan placed 4th in pre-lims in the
50 breast, and 10th in pre-lims in the 100 Fly. Nathan
Swam in finals and held on to his 4th place with a
time of 35.04! In the 100 Fly Nathan dropped almost a full second
and moved up four spots to a 6th place tie in the event!
27 of the Fightin' Sea Cukes are off
to College Park Maryland to compete at Long Course YMCA Nationals.

The Y-Spartaquatics Swim Club is a year-round
competitive swim team located in South Carolina’s upstate.
YSSC is a program of the YMCA of Greater Spartanburg. It is
the vision of the YMCA to build strong kids, strong families, and
strong communities by instilling our values of Respect,
Responsibility, Caring, and Honesty.
YSSC offers a step by step progression for every child, no matter
the ability or age, in the sport of swimming. There is over 75
years of combined coaching experience amongst the Staff. The YSSC
Staff has a love and enthusiasm for the sport of swimming that is
unmatched by any other club in the Southeast. Long term
planning and goal setting are the greatest tools our staff uses to
develop a lifelong love of swimming.
YSSC competes in both USA Swimming and YMCA sanctioned
meets. The program has produced South Carolina State
Qualifiers & Champions, Age Group Sectional Qualifiers &
Champions, Y-National Qualifiers & Champions, Junior National
Qualifiers, and USA Olympic Trial Qualifiers.
